The Alpinist

This is the Alpinist outfit from the European Spy Pack series.  This was also available boxed with a figure.  The figure was called Alpinist Joe.  I have a couple of different versions of the figure which is essentially Big Jeff with the Euro Kung-Fu grip style hands and a different hair color.  The figure in the current photo is different (any guesses on who it is?).  The variations that I have found include:  hard plastic boots vs. rubber boots, white grappling hook vs. silver, black rope vs. white, and brown back pack vs. black.  Gun enthusiasts might notice the nicely detailed replica of the H&K 91(or G3).

The Spy Pack outfits and Spy Figures from the European Line of the late 70s/early 80s are among the nicest stuff Mattel put out in the Big Jim line.  Just look at all of the accessories that came with this set.
