European health authorities are dissatisfied with the new sponsorship deal between the “Ferrari” and “Marlborough”, which recently extended the agreement until the end of 2015, reports Guardian. Committee on Public Health and Anti-smoking (Ash) and the Royal College of Medicine (RCP) sent a letter to the president of the International Automobile Federation (FIA) Jean Todt, Which asked him to investigate the deal. According to the President Deborah Arnott Ash, “Ferrari” gets “an unfair advantage over other teams that are no longer supported by tobacco sponsorship.” At the same time, Professor John Britton, head of advisory group on tobacco control FCP believes that the deal violates EU legislation banning cigarette advertising. The company “Filip Morris”, which owns the name “Marlboro”, confident that the deal violates at law. “We are confident that our partnership with” Ferrari “complies with all laws. Today the brand” Marlboro “is not present in cars,” Ferrari “racing overalls and at a trace of any of Formula-1″, – said company spokeswoman Anne Edwards.
