In the early 80s Mattel released figures with a spy theme.  The European market must have been very profitable for Mattel in these years because there are numerous figures in the line and the figures accessories and outfits are very detailed.  There are a number of new head sculpts in the line.  The new accessories, outfits, and head sculpts must have cost Mattel considerably in new tooling.

This line came out too late for me as a kid (not to mention an ocean away), but if it were around in the early 70s in the US, I would have been crazy for it.  Now a large part of my small collection is focused on the European lines.  Here are some of the spy series items.  Click on the image for more pictures and photos.
